IWI GL 40 SERIES

The IWI GL 40 series features two distinct 40x46mm models tailored for versatile deployment: the IWI Stand-Alone Grenade Launcher and the IWI UBGL (Under Barrel Grenade Launcher). Designed in collaboration with the Israel Defense Forces (IDF), these grenade launchers exemplify cutting-edge engineering, reliability, and tactical superiority. Both models are engineered with an innovative forward and side (left and right) opening barrel system, which enables the simple extraction and ejection of grenades while accommodating various ammunition lengths, including extended grenades. To meet specific mission requirements, the GL 40 is available in two barrel lengths: 9" and 12".

Enhanced ergonomics, which include an ambidextrous safety, cartridge release, and pistol grip design, ensure optimal user comfort and intuitive handling. The design allows for quick assembly and disassembly of the weapon by the user without the need for additional tools, and built-in safety mechanisms ensure reliable and secure operation under all conditions. The Stand-Alone Grenade Launcher features a foldable and telescoping buttstock, making it ideal for a wide range of operational environments. Notably, the UBGL can be easily converted into a stand-alone launcher by adding a buttstock, providing operators with the flexibility to adapt to different mission requirements quickly.

The IWI UBGL integrates seamlessly with IWI’s TAVOR-X95, ARAD, and ACE rifles, providing enhanced firepower without compromising the primary weapon’s functionality. The system is equipped with an upper Picatinny rail for grenade sights and a lower Picatinny rail that allows for added tactical accessories. Both models are engineered to handle medium velocity rounds, extending their effective range and operational versatility. The IWI UBGL can be used independently, transforming into a formidable stand-alone grenade launcher within seconds. Rigorously tested under the harshest conditions, these weapon systems are proven to be reliable, cost-effective, and simple to operate, rooted in the extensive experience and innovative prowess of the IDF.
