Building on decades of global leadership in combat-proven small arms, IWI sets a new operational standard with its ARBEL Anti-Drone System, pioneering the world's first computerized weapon system for real-time and combat-proven kinetic drone interception.
Combat-Proven
Field-deployed and operationally proven worldwide
A True Game-Changer
ARBEL makes advanced fire control technology accessible to every infantry soldier, not just a specifically designated operator
Mission-Ready. Always.
Instant deployment with zero calibration. From box to battlefield in seconds.
Intelligence at the trigger finger.

Pioneering the world's first computerized small-arms architecture for infantry forces, the ARBEL Anti-Drone System embeds an advanced tactical microcomputer directly within the rifle's lower receiver. When engaging an aerial threat with the safety selector in ARBEL mode, continuous trigger pressure deploys rounds at an optimal cadence of fire, enabling rapid target engagement while maintaining controllable recoil management.
The field-replaceable Li-Ion battery delivers up to 50 hours of active engagement in ARBEL mode, providing sustained operational readiness across extended missions. Its optics-agnostic design allows the operator to use his preferred sighting system, from standard iron sights and red dots to thermal, night vision, and telescopes, matching both current weapon loadouts and mission demands.

General
What is the ARBEL Anti-Drone System?
The IWI ARBEL Anti-Drone System is a combat-proven, computerized fire-control system that turns a standard AR-15 rifle into a drone-interception weapon. Built into the rifle's lower receiver, it allows every soldier to engage small drones with their personal weapon and standard ammunition, without costly or complex external systems.
How does the ARBEL Anti-Drone System work?
The shooter sets the selector to ARBEL mode, aims and pulls the trigger. The first round is fired mechanically, as in any standard rifle. While the trigger is held back, ARBEL's computerized trigger mechanism and smart algorithms release the follow-up rounds at the optimal cadence of fire. The shooter focuses only on tracking and aiming, while ARBEL handles the split-second timing.
Who is the ARBEL Anti-Drone System designed for?
The ARBEL Anti-Drone System is designed for every infantry soldier. It provides an immediate response to drone threats directly from the soldier's personal weapon, with no need to carry heavy systems or additional equipment. ARBEL turns every soldier, not only elite marksmen, into a precise and lethal drone interceptor, and is scalable for individual, team and squad-level protection.
Compatibility and Installation
Which weapons does the ARBEL Anti-Drone System fit?
The ARBEL Anti-Drone System fits any standard AR-15 rifle, through a replacement of the rifle's lower receiver.
How is the ARBEL Anti-Drone System installed?
The ARBEL Anti-Drone System replaces the rifle's lower receiver with no special tools.
Does the ARBEL Anti-Drone System need special ammunition?
No. The ARBEL Anti-Drone System works with standard 5.56x45mm NATO ammunition; no special ammunition is required. For drone interception, IWI recommends M855 ammunition.
Does the ARBEL Anti-Drone System work with existing optics?
Yes. The ARBEL Anti-Drone System is optics-agnostic and fully compatible with standard optics and accessories. Operators can keep their own sighting setup, including red dots, magnified scopes, thermal and night-vision sights, and even iron sights, all without modification.
Which firing modes are available?
The selector has four positions: Safe, ARBEL, Semi-Auto and Auto. All the rifle's original firing modes are retained, with ARBEL added as a dedicated position.
Performance
What is the engagement range against drones?
The engagement range of a rifle equipped with the ARBEL Anti-Drone System is up to 350 m in daylight and up to 250 m at night, in urban, rural and harsh battlefield conditions.
How fast is an interception?
Only a few seconds from target detection to interception.
How much does an interception cost?
Only a few dollars per engagement. The optimal cadence of fire also reduces ammunition expenditure.
Battery, Weight and Durability
How long does the battery last?
The field-replaceable Li-Ion battery of the ARBEL Anti-Drone System delivers up to 50 hours of active engagement in ARBEL mode. This translates into days of continuous engagement and weeks of a standard deployment scenario.
What happens if the battery runs out?
The rifle continues to operate as a standard semi-automatic rifle, so the soldier is never left without a working weapon.
How much weight does the ARBEL Anti-Drone System add to the weapon?
The ARBEL Anti-Drone System adds about 400 g (14 oz) to the rifle. Most of the added weight is located in the buffer tube, and this rear placement maintains optimal weapon balance.
Is the ARBEL Anti-Drone System combat-proven?
Yes. The ARBEL Anti-Drone System has been extensively tested and validated in operational environments, and is built to MIL-STD 810 / TOP 3-2-045 standards for durability and reliability.
Training
How much training does the ARBEL Anti-Drone System require?
Minimal. The ARBEL Anti-Drone System is based on the standard AR-15 design and keeps all controls and operation the same as any AR-15. The shooter simply aims and shoots, while ARBEL provides the right cadence of fire.
